November 2013 Core Group Meeting

Our core group meeting last November 20 was also a birthday celebration of some of us who celebrated our birthdays recently. We started the discussion right after eating. Thanks to our companion in the core group, Jake, who offered his house for the said meeting/birthday celebration.

Moving on with the meeting, we discussed the need to continue the mandala exhibit by early next year. Gabby was the one asked to coordinate with some schools for the said exhibit. Genie will also talk with some schools for the exhibit. She also reported that St. Paul of Quezon City used a mandala design as a cover design for one of their school magazines. She added that she'll get a copy of the said magazine.

Gabby was also asked to draw the mandala for Panay, Bohol, Leyte and Samar. These provinces are the ones badly hit by typhoon Yolanda. As the core group of MPAI, we will support Yolanda victims by joining with our friends in Peace Makers in helping Balai Rehabilitation center. Orlan reported that the program set by Peace Makers will be for 3 months and he will be reporting soon when can MPAI join in.

August 2013 Core Group Meeting

It was still a rainy day last Aug 18 but the core group continued to meet at ISIS because we have a lot of activities to discuss for this month of September. I guess that is true commitment to having that Peace in our world. We're committed to give a Divinity-In workshop one Saturday morning every month, a Mandala writing workshop one Saturday afternoon every month and of course to attend the core group meeting one Sunday every month.

Moving on, these are what we discussed. On September 15, we will have an activity at La Sallete which is located in Cavite. Some of us will be going there on the 14th. Next to that is our event at the Global city on Sept 21. We shall be making 21 mandalas for 20 countries who need Peace the most. Of course, one of the countries is our beloved Philippines. We shall also be doing a special mandala for Mindanao. The remaining 19 countries are Malaysia, China, United States of America, Taiwan, Turkey, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Afghanistan, Egypt, North Korea, Yemen, Palestine, Israel, Iraq, India, Syria, Libya and Liberia. Lastly, on September 23, 1 PM, we shall have a Mandala Exhibit at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute in Quezon City. We'll also join in the Earth dance celebration with Peace Makers and the celebration of non-violence which are also within the month.

Before parting ways, we performed the Jinrui Soku Kami Nari divinity-in for our loved ones and for the world. May Peace Prevail On Earth.

July 2013 Core Group Meeting

The core group of Mandala Peace Arts Initiative had a meeting again last July 14, 2013. We discussed the IDP Activities on Sept. 21 and the resumption of Mandala exhibits in Miriam College. We also prayed and did our spiritual deepening - TOUITSU Meditation and Divinity IN.

June 2013 Core Group Meeting

Every event of our group needs to be evaluated by the group so as for the Symphony of Peace Prayers that happened just this May, we evaluated everything last June 16. Over all it was successful and fruitful. Everything fell into place and the event itself was spiritually uplifting for each and everyone of us. For next year's SOPP venue, we decided to again consider Trinity College along E. Rodriguez avenue. We hope that next year's SOPP will just be as successful and spiritually uplifting as this year's SOPP and we hope that many more will join us in our prayers for peace. Also, for this month of July, we shall start our workshop on the Divinity In or Prayer in Motion. Please do join us. This will take place every third Saturday morning of every month starting this month at ISIS. After the Divinity In workshop will be our regular Mandala writing workshop. Please contact us if you are interested to take part on both workshops. See you all soon and God bless! :-)

April 2013 Core Group Meeting

It was a very fruitful Sunday for all of us. Our core group meeting was held at Balihai Restaurant along Visayas Avenue last April 21, 2013. The venue was suggested by Orlan, one of the core group members. He also suggested that the place be the venue of our SOPP this coming May 19. The place was very nice, very cozy and it can accommodate many people who would like to attend our event. Everyone was ok with the suggested place. The SOPP will start at 3 PM in the afternoon and most likely end before 6 PM. We shall have a peace pole somewhere in the area. The flags that we will be using for the event shall be coming in from Japan. Marlon, another core group member, offered to download the movie presentation with flags from the internet. He shall also document the event with his camera. The emcees for this event shall be Jake and Genie. We shall also have a vegan snack. Gabby, another core group member suggested to have an event shirt for the core group members and some mandala shirts for sale for anyone who wants to buy one. Jake shall do the shirt designs using some positive words and will be posted here for orders. Gabby further suggested that people from different religions can stay at Balihai Restaurant after 6 PM or immediately after the SOPP event as a consolidation activity. There's a videoke there where people can sing and a stage with some musical instruments where people can perform. People can also talk to everyone while listening to people singing or performing. Orlan added that a Balinese dancer can perform during the event or during the consolidation activity. This is really worth watching. Since Toots shall be joining the community in Baguio for the SOPP, Queenie and Oscar shall take over the Mandala Writing workshop on May 18. The SOPP will also be done in different places in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. May Peace Prevail On Earth.
